Course Outline
The Stage Two course is suitable for representatives and others with health and safety responsibilities who have completed either a Stage I or Team Leaders / Supervisors / Managers’ course. This course builds on the knowledge and skills developed in the Initial Training around risk management. It explores effective ways for workers, HSR’s and Persons Conducting a Business or undertaking (PCBU) to work together.
Session 1: Working together to manage health and safety risk
Session 2: Why report and investigate events?
Session 3: Response to an event
Session 4: Plan an investigation
Session 5: What happened? (Collecting facts)
Session 6: Why did it happen? (Analyse immediate and underlying causes)
Session 7: What will we do about it? (Manage risk and make recommendations)
Session 8: How will we keep it safe?
Session 9: Investigating an event (case study)
Session 10: Worker Engagement, Participation and Representation
