What Worksafe Reps is doing

  • Ensuring our venues can support good hygiene practices, such as soap and water and/or hand sanitiser, paper towels and tissues;
  • Ensuring regularly touched surfaces have been cleaned including door-knobs, light switches and tables;
  • Checking that our caterers are extra vigilant with hand hygiene and are not working if they are not well;
  • Promoting “no touching” at courses including no hand-shakes, hugs, kisses and hongis;
  • Asking people who are sick, are in close contact with someone with suspected or confirmed Covid-19 or have travelled overseas in the last fourteen days to stay home and re-book onto another course;
  • Asking any participant who becomes sick during the course to leave the course. The best course completion option can be discussed with WorkSafe Reps when you are well (e.g. online or attendance at a future date).

What you can do as a registered participant

Do not attend your scheduled course if:

  • You are unwell;
  • You arrived in New Zealand from any country except those listed in Category 2 excluding airport transit in the last fourteen days;
  • You have been in close contact with someone suspected or confirmed with COVID-19 in the last 14 days who is being asked to self-isolate.

While you attend our course

The most important thing to do is practice good hygiene. This means:

  • Covering coughs and sneezes with disposable tissues or coughing/sneezing into your elbow;
  • disposing of used tissues appropriately in a bin;
  • washing hands for at least 20 seconds with soap and water and drying them thoroughly, or using hand sanitiser:
    • before eating or handling food;
    • after using the toilet;
    • after coughing, sneezing, blowing your nose or wiping children’s noses;
    • after touching public surfaces;
    • no touching others including no hand-shakes, hugs, kisses, or hongi.

Any questions, please ask. Thanks
