Kia ora tatou.
I started at the Workers’ Education Trust (WorksafeReps) in June 2018. I have spent my working career in education and training since 1992. I have worked in a number of positions in education in NZ and in the UAE; including ITPs, PTEs, ITOs, government department, and education consultancy. My work in the UAE was a four-year contract as head of accreditation and quality assurance for the Higher Colleges of Technology. I am now in a health and safety training role and have a keen interest in worker safety and health. I am particularly intersted in psychosocial aspects of worker health such as stress, mental health, fatigue and workplace bullying.
I am also Chairperson of the Board of SPELD NZ, a national organisation devoted to supporting people with dyslexia and other specific learning disabilities.
I am married with two teenage boys and live in Lower Hutt. My interests include mountain biking, photography and I enjoy music including jazz, classical and contemporary. I am an occaisional Vinyl DJ in Petone.
